Keep the part of a recording you need
This audio cutter keeps one continuous selection and removes the audio before and after it. Drag the waveform selection handles or enter start and end times in seconds, preview that part of the original, then export an MP3 or 16-bit PCM WAV. Files stay in your browser.
How to trim audio online
- Choose an MP3 or uncompressed PCM WAV, up to 30 MiB and ten minutes.
- Enter a start time of zero or greater and an end time within the source duration. The end must be after the start.
- Play the selected segment. Adjust the boundaries if a word or note is cut off.
- Choose MP3 or WAV, create the clip, listen to the exported result and download.
Preview and export are different checks
Selected playback seeks within your original and stops near the chosen end. Browser scheduling can make that stopping point approximate. The exported file uses the numeric selection; listen to it before using it. MP3 encoding may add a small framing difference to the reported duration, especially for very short clips.
Formats, quality and size
Input supports mono or stereo MP3 and PCM WAV. M4A is not accepted here; use M4A to MP3 first if needed. Exports are re-encoded, not lossless MP3 frame copies. WAV output uses 16-bit PCM. A 48 kHz input stays at 48 kHz; other accepted rates export at 44.1 kHz.
A shorter clip usually uses less data at the same format and bitrate, but converting MP3 to WAV may still create a larger file. The comparison is against your full original, not an uncompressed version of the selection. Plan with the file size calculator and check the actual download.
Audio trimming questions
Can I remove a section from the middle?
No. This tool keeps a single range. It does not join separate sections or split a track into many files. Waveform handles adjust the start and end of one continuous selection.
Can I trim to an exact duration?
Set end minus start to the duration you need. The minimum selection is 0.01 seconds, or the full file for an even shorter source. WAV output is quantized to audio samples; MP3 framing can affect the reported duration. Always check the exported result for strict delivery requirements.
How do I avoid an abrupt ending?
Choose a natural pause near the boundary. For a gentle finish, use fade out audio; for the beginning, use fade in audio. This cutter does not add fades automatically. Keep a WAV intermediate if another edit is needed to avoid a second MP3 encoding step.

After trimming your clips, join audio files into one ordered track.
For slower practice, change the speed of your finished clip while keeping its pitch.
